Please note: The NHS Clinical Knowledge Summaries (CKS) is no longer commissioned by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE). NICE remains committed to providing a replacement service for CKS and is currently reviewing its options. In the meantime, CKS content will remain browsable on this site and also searchable on the NHS Evidence website where a wide range of additional information resources may be found, but please note that from March 2011 the content of CKS is no longer being maintained.

CKS is commissioned and paid for by NHS Evidence, a service provided by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence. It provides practical and quality assured knowledge to support healthcare professionals working in primary and first contact care. Look at the Clinical Summaries in the In Summary section for concise information on how to manage distinct clinical situations and the In Depth section as a learning resource.

In addition the process by which CKS topics are developed has recently been accredited by NHS Evidence. (For more information about accreditation please see www.evidence.nhs.uk/accreditation.
